New pet grooming salon

Barking Beauties and Friends is a salon based pet grooming business based in Uphall near Livingston and run by Julie. It covers all aspects of dog and cat grooming and offers small pet grooming as a side service.

Having always kept a wide variety of pets, and having developed a particular affection for dogs and cats, we are in the position to understand the needs and wants of clients both owner and pet alike.

Julie is a fully qualified groomer, holding both a City & Guilds certificate and an Abb Fabb dog grooming qualification. She trained in Cornwall at the Abb Fabb Grooming Academy with Eve Somers who is one of the UK’s best groomers and trainers. Her training means that not only does she have the knowledge to be able to groom all breeds of dogs to kennel club standards but has also been educated in all aspects of health & safety and safe handling and restraint for animals of all temperaments. She also holds an Abb Fabb qualification in cat grooming. Julie likes to keep up to date with the latest grooming techniques and styles and regularly attends seminars and shows to update her knowledge.

Grooming equipment

The Barking Beauties salon is very up to date and the equipment used is among the best available in the industry, ensuring the safety of your pet and reducing their stress during the grooming process. We do not believe in cutting corners to save money and as such the products used are carefully selected with the health and safety of you pet in mind. These include “Show Seasons” shampoos and “South Barks Blueberry Facial Scrub” products which in our opinion far out class many of the cheaper alternatives available on the market. This helps to achieve an above average finish on groomed pets in addition to ensuring that they are thoroughly cleaned, smelling fresh and that their coats are in top condition. Any skin or coat problems will be taken into consideration when choosing which product to use, and with “Show Seasons” there really is a shampoo for every occasion, thus assuring your pet’s well being.

Julie will be only too willing to give pet owners her advice on the care of their pet’s coats in order to keep them looking and feeling healthy.
